Alexander brothers sentenced to 30 years for sex trafficking crimes
Three brothers convicted of drugging and raping dozens of women were each sentenced to 30 years in prison on Tuesday in New York.
Twins Oren and Alon Alexander, 39, and their brother Tal, 40, were each sentenced to 30 years in prison on Tuesday in Manhattan federal court after being convicted in March of sex trafficking, rape and sexual abuse. Twelve victims addressed the court, describing years of trauma from sexual assaults committed across multiple locations including New York, Miami, the Hamptons and Aspen between 2008 and 2021. Judge Valerie Caproni described the brothers' conduct as 'monstrous' and denied their request for the minimum 15-year sentence, which prosecutors had opposed by seeking life imprisonment. The brothers, who had risen to prominence as luxury real estate brokers, maintained their innocence during the hearing, with Oren blaming 'hook-up culture' and listening to shock-jock Howard Stern for his behaviour. Prosecutors had alleged the brothers assaulted at least 70 women in total.
