Arsenal knocked out of Carabao Cup by Fleetwood Town
Arsenal were eliminated from the Carabao Cup by League Two side Fleetwood Town on penalties after Max Dowman was sent off.
Arsenal were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by League Two club Fleetwood Town on penalties. The 16-year-old forward Dowman was sent off in the 85th minute for kicking out at Fleetwood midfielder Harrison Neal following a heavy challenge. Arteta appeared to criticise Dowman as he left the pitch, which drew criticism from former Arsenal player Paul Merson, who felt the manager should have been more supportive.
