Macklemore opens Free Palestine tour in sold-out Dublin show
Macklemore began his Free Palestine tour with a sold-out show in Dublin, after being removed from Ed Sheeran's tour for pro-Palestinian comments.
Macklemore opened his Free Palestine tour with a sold-out concert at Dublin's 3Arena on Monday, weeks after his removal from Ed Sheeran's Loop tour for pro-Palestinian remarks. The rapper defended the 'two words' – Free Palestine – that prompted his exclusion, telling the crowd they were 'rooted in love and liberation', not divisive hatred. All proceeds from the three-date European tour will support organisations assisting Palestinians. The Dublin show featured unannounced guest performances from Irish musicians Hozier, Kneecap and Beoga, alongside video appearances from actors Mark Ruffalo and Cynthia Nixon. Macklemore said the evening was 'one of the most beautiful moments' of his life.
